Physical Examinations

In order to keep in your best healthy shape, annual physicals are important; physical examinations under Medicare are a great way for your doctor to assess your overall health status while discussing any questions, concerns, or abnormalities you have. For chronic conditions, we expect to see patients every few months to thoroughly manage your care. Your yearly Annual Physical is necessary included in your insurance Plan.


We offer In house labs for your convenience .Your Doctor will evaluate you and recommend the appropriate labs .It is recommended that you fast for at least 6 hours before your labs are drawn.

What does a physical exam consist of?

At your exam, the doctor will discuss your full medical history, both personal and family, and ask you lifestyle questions regarding your diet, exercise, drug and alcohol intake, and more.

A nurse will take and document your vitals, including:

  • Weight
  • Height
  • Blood pressure
  • Temperature
  • Respiration rate

What can I expect for the examination?

Your doctor will also listen to your heart and lungs, examine your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, throat, thyroid, abdomen, and lymph nodes. An extremity exam will be conducted, checking your arms, legs, joints, and reflexes for nerve and muscle function, strength, and balance. You may have blood work done to check total blood count and other levels to confirm or rule out any conditions or illnesses, and cholesterol and blood sugar tests are common.

 

Women will have their breasts and pelvis examined while men have their penis, testes, prostate, and abdominal wall checked.
